Friends of Heavy Things Lightly,
This is less a post and more a letter to you all from me, Andrew, creative manager for this 3Souls project. I can’t tell you how excited John and I are to begin releasing this labor of love. Here are a couple of things worth mentioning before we kick off next week.
First, we are working with a very talented artist, Oswald Farley, to provide artwork for each release. Perhaps we may even do something more with this in the future (some limited release prints perhaps?), but a big shout-out to Oswald, his time, and his effort towards this little project of ours. It’s the cherry on top of this whole thing.
You can find his most up-to-date work here.
Second, we have been furiously recording and editing (much to my enjoyment) the audio narration of the novel. Luckily, the same equipment we use for producing our podcast has done an admirable job here as well. Some audio sweetening, laying down some music where appropriate and voilà, only countless hours more editing out John’s mistakes.
I jest.
John has done a fine job narrating and with a couple of edits to take care of inevitable reading mistakes, the final result is *chefs kiss* levels of good. A few early listeners have provided some feedback and we are excited to hear what you think come Monday.
Third, we would be remiss to not mention the incredible editing skills of Daniel Padrnos, whose countless hours polishing this endeavor makes the reading experience that much more enjoyable.
Finally, John’s commentary at the end of this first release is a little generic, but we encourage you to add your questions for next weeks commentary in the comments section. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns now, please send them our way.
To us the victory!
See you Monday.
Andrew S
